The West Bengal Power Development Corporation Limited (A Govt. of West Bengal Enterprise) a premier Power Generating Company in West Bengal invites application for the following positions from the dynamic and energetic Indian Nationals for its different Thermal Power Stations/Projects :
1. Senior Managers / Managers (Chemical)
Candidates must have at least Graduate Degree with Hons. in Inorganic/Physical or Analytical Chemistry from a Govt. recognized University/Institute. Candidates also must have working experience at least 8 years for Senior Manager and 5 years for Manager posts in Sr. Executive/ Executive position of the Chemical Department of any Power Plant/Water Works/Steel Plant or in any Chemical Industry of repute. Age limit 45 Years/35 years respectively as on 01.01.2008.
2. Managers (Personnel & Administration)
Candidates must be Science/Commerce/Arts Graduate and having MBA/P.G. Diploma/Degree (2 years full time course) in Personnel Management/HR (Major) from a Govt. recognized University/ Institute approved by AICTE and also must have at least 8 years working experience in Executive position preferably in any production industry of repute. Degree in Law will be an added advantage. Age limit 40 years as on 01.01.2008.
3. Trainee Executives (Personnel & Administration)
Candidates must be Science/Commerce/Arts Graduate and having MBA/P.G. Diploma/Degree (2 years full time course) in Personnel Management/HR (Major) from a Govt. recognized University/ Institute of repute approved by AICTE. LL.B./ Degree or Diploma in Public Relations & Mass Communication as added qualification will be preferred. Age limit 30 years as on 01.01.2008.
4. a) Graduate Engineer Trainees (Power Station)
Candidates must be B.E./B.Tech. in Electrical/Mechanical/Power Plant Engineering Degree of 4 (four) years duration with 65% marks from a Govt. recognized University/College approved by AICTE. Energy Auditor/Energy Manager of BEE will be added qualification.
b) Graduate Engineer Trainees (Power Station) for Control & Instrumentation
Candidates must be B.E./B.Tech. in Electronics & Instrumentation/Electronics & Communication Engineering Degree of 4 (four) years duration with 65% marks from a Govt. recognized University/College approved by AICTE.
c) Graduate Engineer Trainees (Civil)
Candidates must be B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering Degree of 4 (four) years duration with 65% marks from a Govt. recognized University/College approved by AICTE. Post Graduate Degree/Diploma in Project Management will be added qualification.
Sl.No.4 (a), (b) & (c) above, Candidates appeared/appearing final Semester this year having at least 65% marks on average of last 7 (Seven) Semesters may also apply. In case of their selection to the post they have to produce their final result as above latest by July, 2008. Age limit 28 years as on 01.01.2008.
5. Trainee Executives (Finance & Accounts)
Candidates must have passed the Final Examination of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of India or the Institute of Cost & Work Accountants of India or B.Com. (Hons.) with MBA (Finance) of 2 (two) years regular course from a Govt. recognized University/Institute. Age limit 30 years as on 01.01.2008.
6. Trainee Executives (Movement & Claims)
Candidates must be Graduate with Diploma in Materials Management from a Govt. recognized University/Institute or Graduate with at least 3 (three) years experience in Export, Import, Customs, Railway Traffic, Allotment, Loading, Movement and supply of Coal/Oil Rakes, Insurance and allied Commercial jobs in a reputed concern. Candidates having ‘A’ Class Customs License and Dock License will be preferred. LL.B. from a recognized University will be an added qualification. Age limit 30 years as on 01.01.2008.
7. Security Officers
Candidates must be Graduate having at least 5 (five) years service in Defence/Para Military Service/Short Service Commission not below the rank of Captain/Dy. Commandant. Experience in Industrial Security in a responsible position at any Organization of repute will be preferred. Age limit 45 years as on 01.01.2008.
8. Trainee Movement & Claims Inspector
Candidates must be Graduate with Certificate of Training in Transport Management/Materials Management from a recognized Institute and having at least 2 (two) years experience in Coal-Pilot Section and in Movements covered and linked with Collieries under each Pilot Section and Knowledge in Demurrage, Insurance Rules. Degree in Law from a recognized University will be an added qualification. Age limit 28 years as on 01.01.2008.
9. Trainee Work Supervisors (Civil)
Candidates must be Diploma in Civil Engineering with at least 65% marks from a Govt. recognized Institute. Age limit 28 years as on 01.01.2008.
10. Assistants
Candidates must be –
(a) Science/Arts Graduate from a Govt. recognized University and must possess proficiency in Computer.
(b) Commerce Graduate from a Govt. recognized University and must have proficiency in Computer.
Age limit 26 years as on 01.01.2008 for both (a) & (b).
11. Trainee Operators/Technicians/Draughtsmen (Civil)/(Mechanical)
Candidates must have passed Madhyamik or equivalent Examination with ITI in Fitter/ Electrician/Draughtsman Trade from a Govt. recognized Institute. For Draughtsman knowledge in Cad-Cam will be preferred. Age limit 26 years as on 01.01.2008.
Stipend/Pay Scale for the selected candidate (s) :
Sl.No.1 - Pay Scale Rs.12000-375 (16)-18000 (17) / Rs.10000-325 (16)-15200 (17) plus D.P. (Dearness Pay - 50% of Basic Pay), D.A. on Percentage (%) of Basic pay and other allowances as per rules. They will be initially on probation for 1(one) year.
Sl.No.2 - Pay Scale Rs.10000-325 (16)-15200 (17) plus D.P., D.A. on Percentage (%) of Basic pay and other allowances as per rules. They will be initially on probation for 1(one) year.
Sl.Nos.3 to 6 - The Trainees will be given stipend of Rs.12,000/- per month during training period of 1(one) year and thereafter, if found suitable through Written Test and Interview, shall be absorbed initially with probationary period of 1(one) year as Assistant Manager (P&A)/(PS)/(PS) for C&I/(Civil)/(F&A)/(M&C), as applicable, in the pay scale of Rs.8000-275(20)-13500(21) plus D.P., D.A. on Percentage (%) of Basic pay and other allowances as per rules.
Sl.No.7 - Pay Scale of Rs.8000-275(20)-13500(21) plus D.P., D.A. on Percentage (%) of Basic pay and other allowances as per rules. They will be initially on probation for 1 (one) year.
Sl.Nos.8&9 - The Trainees will be given stipend of Rs.6000/- per month during training period of 1(one) year and thereafter, if found suitable through Written Test and Interview, shall be absorbed initially with probationary period of 1 (one) year as Movement & Claims Inspector/Work Supervisor (Civil) in the pay scale of Rs.4000-125-4250-150-5300-175-7050-200-7850(24) plus D.P., D.A. on Percentage (%) of Basic pay and other allowances as per rules.
Sl.No.10 (a&b) - Pay Scale of Rs.3350-90(5)-3800-100(9)-4700-125(8)-5700 (23) plus D.P., D.A. on Percentage (%) of Basic pay and other allowances as per rules. They will be initially on probation for 1 (one) year.
Sl.No.11 - The Trainees will be given stipend of Rs.5,000/- per month during training period of 1(one) year and thereafter, if found suitable through Written Test and Interview, shall be absorbed initially with probationary period of 1 (one) year as Operator/Technician/Draughtsman, as applicable, in the pay scale of Rs.3350-90(5)-3800-100(9)-4700-125(8)-5700 (23) plus D.P., D.A. on Percentage (%) of Basic pay and other allowances as per rules.
All Pay Scales/Allowances likely to be revised.
Other Facilities :
Quarters/H.R.A., Medical Benefit, Electricity Allowance, LTC/HTC, GPF/Pension, Gratuity, Leave Encashment Benefit, Incentive, Leave and Holidays, as admissible as per rules.
Other Conditions :
Reservation norms for SC/ST/OBC/EC/PH Category candidates shall be followed. Age is relaxable by 5 years for SC/ST and 3 years for OBC candidates, as admissible. Age/Experience may also be relaxed for the Departmental candidates. Service of each category is transferable.

CORRIGENDUM
