Power Plant Simulator at
Bakreswar Thermal
Power Station

The corporation has a well knit team. The team-based performance is appreciated with all sincerity as per the culture of the WBPDCL. The Corporation recognizes the performance of its employees at all levels and practices the ‘Carrot & Stick’ concept of managing people right from its inception.

For involvement to the workers in managerial decision making process, Joint Management Council had been formed at the plant level having representatives from Trade Unions, Officer Associations and management. The Managing Director of the Organization heading this council.

The Industrial Relation is Cordial through out the organization. Not a single man-day has been lost due to disharmony of Industrial Relation.

Standardization of ISO Certification

Kolaghat Thermal Power Station has obtained ISO 9002. The other plants are now involved in paving the way for same standardization towards ISO Certification.

Occupational Health Service

The Occupational health Service in WBPDCL towards its employees start from very first day of his induction in the organization through detail health parameter recording. A Pilot Project at BKTPP in the area of occupational health service is at a full swing.

Safety

On safety area details safety measures has been undertaken in all front in order to prevent any accident. At BKTPP the most advanced technology of Fibre Optic based sensing equipment for fire fighting has been introduced. The annual audit on safety and loss prevention for all plants has been introduced.

Information Technology

Wide Area Network connecting all plants and corporate office in an integrated manner has been introduced using V SAT and BSNL Broadband dedicated media.

Energy Conservation

Continuous monitoring and auditing is the aspect of energy conservation has ruled resulted in to reduced auxiliary consumption and improve the overall heat rate in the power stations of WBPDCL.

Human Resource Development

The continuous skill and knowledge upgradation of the human resource in the organization through different training programme is now a compulsory affair. As a part of Technical training a Simulator has been installed at BKTPP Training Centre. This is first Simulator among the Power Utilities in Eastern India.
